The title of this print is straightforward. Peter Wright is the trade name for anvils produced in the United States in the early 1900s. I have added the number 2 because this is a print made from a plate re-worked from an earlier plate. This second plate has extensive scraping and burnishing.
Besides making prints, I works as a blacksmith, creating sculpture and architectural work. This anvil is used in my shop. Thus, printmaking and forging steel, have a true reciprocity. –Artist statement
