This is a maquette, or model of a sculpture that was commissioned by the City of Seattle for the Louisa Boren Viewpoint in Boren Park. (Louisa Boren was the last survivor of the band of settlers who landed at Alki Point in 1851and founded Seattle). The final sculpture stands 19 feet tall and is made of cor-ten steel.  Its interlocking forms create spaces through which one can walk or look at the views of the city and the surrounding park.
