Some of Michael Burns' images are concerned with architectural subject matter, lightfall, and the pure beauty of light. Others are studied moments which capture and glorify details and fragments of time and place.  In these photographs, the issue is the distinction between picture taking (the depiction of something happening) and picture making (the selection and juxtaposition of elements of an image.
