Jimi Hendrix/Ten Years of Missing You

So often monuments erected to honor our dead heroes can be cloying and overly sentimental.  This documentary photograph of Jimi Hendrix’s grave site records in a matter of fact way how some followers chose to honor the memory of this guitar playing genius.  While the offerings left behind may not be particularly grand, the scene they create does seem to speak of a bond between this performer and those who apparently miss him. The artist records and presents this modest monument with honesty and very little sentimentality.
