All the photographs were shot fast, many without looking: some were taken as she responded to the feel of something in the urban density, and then blindly clicked the shutter over her shoulder. Others were shot from waist level, using the camera more like a gun than a viewing apparatus, recording a nether site between artist and subject, a place caught at the glass of the lens, between looking, feeling and mechanism. . . She attends to the shimmer of the peripheral. Instead of subject, the referent of the photograph is the camera; and instead of Image the goal is the print. -Chris Bruce, in a written statement for the artist.
