Native American artist Alex Williams was an Artist in Residence at Daybreak Star in Discovery Park in 1980. His Nez Percé ancestry helped him in his creation of eight masks in the NW Coast style for display at Daybreak Star.
This mask and others
were commissioned for the Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center which opened to
the public in 1978.
