Thickets: Untitled 1999

My imagery is highly personal and while I have no patent on the forms used, I understand their particular meaning perfectly, even though the process is largely unconscious.  In 1997, the artist began shooting in the park adjacent to his house with a medium format camera.  The resulting series, 'Thickets' is about the fecundity and complexity of nature and how it may be imaged in a particular way using a short depth of focus and the beautiful luminous and weighty quality of the platinum print.
