There is no artist's statement to give us clues as to his intent, but despite the medium, there is the suggestion of something geologic or geographic going on here. Like a map or a view in cross section of layers of earth, this work documents either a violent event buried in some previous time or perhaps a fault line waiting to shift in the future. A flaw exists in the otherwise orderly arrangement of things.
