The Red Remembrance Series honors our missing and murdered Indigenous relatives through three portraits that hold strength, generational memory, and identity. She Rides For Them shows a Native woman in red atop a white horse marked with symbolic handprints that carry the weight of the voices taken. These artworks remind us that our relatives are not forgotten. Their stories, identities, and spirits continue to be carried forward with love, remembrance, and responsibility.
My work comes from a place of love, responsibility, and truth. I create with care because these aren’t just photos, they hold people, stories, and our history. I use my camera to honor our ancestors, protect our memory, and make sure our people are seen in a real and respectful way. A lot of my work is tied to healing and giving strength back to our communities, especially when it comes to our missing and murdered relatives. I want people to feel something when they see my work, to pause, to understand, and to carry the story forward. I believe art can open hearts, start conversations, and remind us that our people are still here, still loved, and still worth fighting for. –Artist statement
