Festival in the Spring (Bumbershoot)

I want to show the happiness and loving of life in a festive atmosphere…I also want to show the ever-greenness of Washington State; I maximized the green color.  The artist attended Hanoi College of Art and the College of Art in Moscow, Russia.  He then became a political prisoner for seven years in Vietnam.  Escaping from Vietnam in 1988, he was a boat refugee in Hong Kong.  In 1990, he was accepted as a political refugee by the US and came to Seattle in 1992, where he has painted Upside-Downism to show the irrationality of life.
