I call these paintings Alluvium art, which I named after the geological term for fine sediment deposited by flowing water. I have been impacted so undeniably by tragedy and great fortune that I began curiously studying the processes of life and how things happen. A disability necessitates mechanical adaptations and amplifies my awareness of gravity. For each painting I build a specific jig to deform the horizontal canvas, weighing certain areas to create heavy points, conducting the flow of particles across the surface. –Artist statement
