My recent work represents the beliefs and ceremonies of the Puget Sound Salish Indians. Northwest Coast Indian Art is often seen as totem poles and ornately carved wall panels and frequently these articles symbolize our region. While this type of northern artwork is meant for public display, the local Indians developed art that is of a highly religious and personal nature. My work depicts spirit figures and dolls and are my own interpretation of implements and artifacts I have seen. –Artist statement
