Description: The artwork consists of 400 cast porcelain light bulb sculptures and video projections of filaments onto the ceramic sculptures.
Artist Statement: Filament is a multi-media installation inspired by the history of electricity and 19th century light bulbs. The bulbs create a landscape of an electric world; the use of video activates and animates the installation. Hundreds of cast porcelain light bulbs provide the surface on which projected and transitory images of filaments dance across the surface.
