Neighborhood Marks; Little Italy Zebra

The urge to decorate our living spaces is as old as humankind is. Ken Allison became interested in documenting how this urge to decorate expresses itself in modern urban settings.  By focusing on the painted decorations depicted in this photograph, because it is decoration that is celebrated and not graffiti, the image becomes in some way more noble.
