Chicago Dreamscape; Chinatown Backyard

Most of Ken Allison's recent photographs have been taken in urban Chicago. In an artist's statement he wrote for the Seattle Arts Commission he said, The neighborhoods of Chicago are full of wonderful texture. The marks of people, nature and time define different neighborhoods as clearly as the distinctive vegetation and landscape define our more open West. I feel that this city environment and its texture to a large degree mold and define the people who live in it. Whatever the landscape, he seems interested in how the people help to make a place, and how a place can effect the people who live in it.
