Often, Mark Mumford will suggest a figurative presence in his work, almost creating a physical metaphor for human existence.  However, with this piece, the artist has focused upon the formal qualities of shape, form, texture and color to articulate his sculptural interest.  The piece responds to its surrounding architecture.
