Snow Owl - Parking Meter

This is a case where apparently real things are juxtaposed in such a way to make the scene seem totally un-real.  What is this Snow Owl doing in such an urban environment? The stories that brought the bird to this static scene, and the adventures it will have from here on out are apparently up to the viewer to create.
This artist was one of the most visible artists working in the Northwest during the 1970s.  The location of the painted scene is Third and Marion looking up the hill to the east.
