The use of photography allows Beradelli to examine certain lines of definition between what is abstract and what is real. He intends the work to be very personal but also emotive of the human condition.
He incorporated a hinge to represent the joint of a limb, with the line of break to be severe but with a simple appearance. Originally he intended the break to be at the knee, but then decided the present location would be more effective.
