Spring Mist (Missed)

My work is somewhere in the space between drawing, painting, and sculpture.  I paint on transparent mylar, building form through the repetition of marks.  The resultant works are cut out and paired, cropped, layered, and assembled.  The process is intuitive - a pairing of impulse and labor, intention and chance.  I want the work to have a tangibly organic and mutable presence when finished.  I seek to create objects and experiences of reverence, humor, and wonder. –Artist statement
