Carbon Drawing Paper

Using common materials such as rubber-bands, tape, whiteout, stick pins and carbon paper, I have created structures and drawings that allude to and reference the growth of a city; individual units repeating, forming larger structures as if creating a temporary framework like a scaffolding. Other forms that look like corrals, ramps, tunnels or rollercoasters emerge from the most humble materials.  The use of office supplies adds to the sense of urgency and tension that these pieces evoke while opening up new possibilities of meaning beyond the mundane. –Artist statement
