Ode to Crude

Ode to Crude is a very pure reflection of everything I love about film as both an artistic medium, and as an instrument of poetic form. My interest lies in its ability to be a medium for all mediums, making it versatile and ever new. Painting, sculpture, light, poetry, dance, industrial fabrication, photography and, most recently, glassblowing all have a place in my work. All are relevant verbs and notes in highly orchestrated compositions of time. Time is where all film exists, but my work, such as Ode to Crude Puts a premium on it. Screen-time tends to be short in the same way jewelry tends to be small. –Artist statement
