April Fools I

This painting is from the artist’s TIME AND MATERIALS series that she began in 1997.  Overall, it examines both issues of domesticity as well as time and mortality.  The circular format is essential to the content since it relates to the circularity of life, time and the inevitability of birthday cakes. . . To achieve the frosting effect, acrylic paint was squeezed from a pastry tube. –Artist statement
