Boat No.3 - Rainbow

There are several works by this artist in the collection, however most of them relate to his interest in integrating Western painting with Eastern philosophy. Zen Buddhism, with its belief in the unity of the individual and the universe, has become a prominent source for the personal symbolism of his work.  In this work, however the imagery is more objective, suggesting a vehicle to reach the rainbow.
