Preston is of Tlingit and Irish ancestry and works with silver, wood carving as well as prints and paintings. Sandpipers are one of my favorite birds and I've done a few images of them over the years. Sands of Time is my attempt to capture the beauty and peacefulness of the beach at low tide, with Sandpipers looking for food. I wanted the image to feel eternal, the way the beach does. –Artist statement
