Description: The sculpture is a fabricated metal “moving collage of animal forms,” activated by the wind.  Mounted on a 20’ high pole, a steel framework supporting wing and fish tail forms rotates on various axles and hubs, generating movement in several different directions.

Artist Statement: Morphauna was thematically inspired by its proximity to the zoo.  Morph = change;  Fauna = animals collectively.  My intent was to create a piece that allowed for multiple interpretations.  Morphauna brings together my interest in machinery and my fascination with nature.  Its flowing movements are choreographed by its interaction with the chaotic forces  of the atmosphere.
