Steve Jensen’s sculpture work is about water and waves. His father and grandfather, both Norwegian fishermen and boat builders influenced his choice of images and tools. The sculptures, intended to pay homage to nature and our natural resources, employ only naturally fallen cedar trees.  The bark is stripped to dry, patterns are carved deeply into the surface, smoothly sanded and stained with oil, seeking to combine the beauty of the sea and the forest within the inherent qualities of natural wood.
