There is sometimes an impression gained while traveling in other cultures that there is no line drawn between what is art or artistic and that which is called real life. To separate the creative visual impulse from our daily lives (as is so often the case in contemporary western cultures) is to cut ourselves off from one of the most basic and ancient of human enterprises.
