Slanting Wind, Misty Rain

Abstractions are expressed in two basic variations.  Geometric, or hard edge and organic, a looser and more personal style.  This painting could be a considered a combination of both expressions with the rigid, driving lines of hard edge and the organically blurred paint application of a Northwest rain.  Paul Heald, a painter who for a long time lived and worked in the Northwest, recorded his environment with a personalized atmospheric geometry.
