Recognized Rare Forms

All of my paintings represent the melding of several seemingly disparate ideas. Recognized Rare Forms is no exception. Some ideas that inform this painting are a stay in an apartment in Mexico City which inspires the palette, the designer Verner Panton, the grid cell, and the title is an homage to the concept of the underdog. –Artist statement
