Dash Point, 1984

Dash Point is a variation from many of the other panoramas in the series on outdoor camping and recreation area in the west, in that it shows large groups of people at a distance on the beach, while layering with that distant view a single young foreground figure unexpectedly approaching the camera position in its woodland vantage point, suggesting comparisons of scale and the counterpoint of distant and close activity. –Artist statement
