Palouse Canyon, 1984

Mr. Frey gave himself the task of traveling around Washington State, visiting a number of parks and recreation areas, photographing people in the act of relaxing with one another.  In this day and age, it is almost shocking to see a photo-documentary which is focused on something other than anguish or “Life-styles of the rich and famous.”  These sunlit panoramas are celebrations of average people engaged in simple pleasures.
