Southern Strings

Southern Strings is a design that honors my familial quilting tradition. My maternal grandmother, Mary Clark Clay from the Mississippi Delta quilted and passed the art to my aunt, Alma Lee Clay-Holiday, who passed it onto me. Scrap quilts made from Strings of fabric is their signature technique. I am blessed to pass this tradition on. –Artist statement
