Waterworks Construction

Waterworks Construction is a continuation of a series exploring shapes confined by paper outlines. This piece moves beyond the constraints to allow ‘seepage’ into the background. As one gets older, bits and pieces of our lives fade from memory and yet remain in the background, underpinning all that has come since. I make pattern pieces for the shapes, then cut up and re-purpose the prints, recombining them to express something different from the original. –Artist statement
