"Shame on the Moon" pays homage to Longeat Hospital, once a thriving healthcare center in central Phnom Penh during Cambodia's independent golden era between French colonial rule and Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge genocide. Longeat survived decades of war, abandonment, and now rapid urban development, and is now inhabited by a community of hospitality workers and street vendors working nearby.
