In the City

Ahmed Bashir is a DC born artist. A graduate of Evergreen State College, he moved to Seattle to visit his unique perspective upon the city’s consciousness. Impressed with “the things we don’t see”, Bashir explores the unexamined spaces that fill the landscape of our shared reality and brings forth the surreal and super-dimensional elements. Working in various formats, Bashir is also a photojournalist and community leader, establishing the artist collective Crowd Control. He operates with a close-knit network of creatives in Seattle, including Perry Porter, Max Singler, Henry, and Ariel Parrow. –Artist statement
