Gold Coast

A beacon of smoldering blue rock sits in the center of the piece and act as warning for rougher water after a turn in the river. What starts as still but foreboding black water in the shadow of a luminescent mountain, ends up crashing on golden boulders. The beacon itself becomes less of a warning and more of a marker for the inevitable falls. –Artist statement
