Christian Alborz Oldham’s work is concerned with the politics surrounding production and re-production with a particular interest in the garment industry, technology, copy, and economics. These concepts are explored in the practice of ikebana, encompassing multiple mediums such as essays, publishing, installation, and performance. In an ongoing quest to subvert standard growth economics, Oldham never employs the use of social media. Their work is presented under a variety of names and titles, depending on the circumstances, as a means of challenging traditional notions of originality and authorship. –Artist statement
