Love Bandit

As with most of my current work, this piece blends together both figurative and abstract elements, with the objective of telling a story. Both the text/calligraphy and imagery blend together to convey a metaphor or expression about relationships: the passion, recklessness, courage and fear that come with falling in love. The piece was created using a layering approach, which each layer - from the base coat to the top layer of shredded paper - being designed and executed individually, producing a final image akin to a cacophony of sounds. –Artist statement
