Dragon Dance Head and Fragile Storage Trunk is part of my Gaman (Persevere) paintings series. The Japanese word 'gaman' refers to the objects representing times which must be persevered through in the Asian-Pacific immigrant experience. The objects are representative of their communities and have persevered and continue to live on as educational tools. The Dragon Dance Head has been used for the Wing Luke Museum's new year's decorations and celebration and the Fragile Storage Trunk is located in the collections storage area.  The juxtaposition is a behind-the-scenes look at the museum collections.–Artist statement
