Raven Moon is a newer work by Patrick Amos in a series of explorations of the Nuu-chah-nulth seasons, which is made up of a 13-month calendar. Many of the moons reference harvest, collection, and seasonal changes, as well as traditional stories. Raven is a very important figure in many Northwest Coast Nations and is associated with being a trickster and teacher, as well as bringing light to the world. In some nations, Raven is even known for introducing the first humans to earth. –Artist statement
