Description: Near the north entrance to the zoo, among pine trees, Ken Little placed a cast-bronze picnic table.  On the table's surface are cast the names of extinct vertebrates overlaid by a map of the United States, and drawings of a grizzly bear and a white-tailed deer -- two species nearing extinction in the Northwest.  Several “salt and pepper shakers” are cast in place in the center of the table, forming a miniature “cityscape” of downtown Seattle.  Two attached bench seats chart the Earth's geological evolution.

Location: Woodland Park Zoo, 601 North 59th Street, Seattle WA 98103 (near north entrance)
