Working Drawing for the Flying Carpet

Drawn and pasted together in a style so loose that the shapes tumbling across the paper's surface can hardly hold themselves together, this ambiguous scene fails to define itself as landscape or architecture, garden or table top. In such an open-ended realm, nothing defines itself. It is the artist's prerogative to offer up stable or disorienting images, and the viewer's prerogative to either attempt to decipher them or not.
