Neighborhood Nights: Monterey Steps

The settings depicted in Craig Barber's photographs articulate a physical absence of man. Only a light glowing from a porch or dimly visible through drawn curtains, or a car disappearing around a darkened corner anticipate man's return in the early morning hours.  The surroundings are momentarily arrested, helping us to briefly glimpse the relationship we have with our environment.
