In contrast to the rectilinear lines of the interior architecture of the building, the artist has created a sculpture that has irregular lines and an organic form. The design for the piece was informed by researching architectures built by animals, particularly weaverbirds. The exploration of building methods that exist in nature allowed me to contemplate man-made environments and the function of space that surrounds us. Working primarily with wood and natural materials, I'm influenced by the complexities of the natural world and related phenomena. –Artist statement
