By The Sweat Of His Brow

It's the daily activities of those around me that inspires me to paint.  That and the beauty and variety of our natural world.  I like to observe my surroundings and paint not so much what I see as the impression I'm left with.  This painting is a theme of human industry, reflecting upon all that has been accomplished over the years.  From the early use of sticks and stones as tools to settling down from a nomadic lifestyle to till the soil and the challenge of space travel and genetic engineering…it has been an amazing journey and there is so much to come.
