Description: Cubes fit into the 2’ x 2’ sidewalk and plaza grid, and are arranged somewhat like chess pieces on a board. They are cast in a variety of different shapes, in order to cast varying shadows at different times of day, a subtle marker of the passage of time. Textures within the reveals in each cube are borrowed from features that are associated with urban streets and sidewalks (hatch cover patterns, footprints, etc.), an echo of what officers experience on a daily basis while on foot patrol.
