Blown from the Heart Up

Carolyn Krieg is interested in the psyche and the sacred, masks and archetypes, myth and spirit, the nether world, transporting fragments of memory into the present, in attempting to give a greater understanding of the subliminal.  The reinterpretation affected by high technology adds a cryptic dimension to ancient, timeless imagery.
In these works, figures float across the surface or burn deeply into the darkness, their blurred outline a negative space marking an original presence.  These images leave only an ethereal void or memory on the consciousness of the environment...an artist's mark of existence in absentia. .-from  Seattle Collects Seattle, Beth Sellars, Independent Curator, 1997
