Alfredo Arreguin was born in 1935 in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico and received his B.A. and M.F.A. from the University of Washington.  He uses a color spectrum and patterning that suggests a dream world where all is beautiful and peaceful. It is important for me that my richly patterned paintings be both regional and universal. I try to establish a bridge that connects my experience with the dreams and concerns of individuals from an array of cultures. –Artist statement
