Norman Lundin was born in Los Angeles in 1938; he studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, The University of Cincinnati (MFA, 1963) and the University of Oslo, Norway. He is Professor of Art at the University of Washington where he has taught figure drawing and painting for more than three decades.
This drawing is one of a series in which light is the subject matter: the room is a vehicle, existing only to explain the light. I believe that subjective, expressive content is present in my work, however, I spend most of my time with formal concerns. The other will just be there. –Artist statement
