This work is generated from my love of the Ukiyo-e prints of Japan. I was intrigued by the beauty of the Geisha, while feeling the sting and stress of life. The nest is a symbol of security but I felt compelled to show the geisha leaping from the nest. My form of an autobiographical dare. –Artist statement
